Armando Martinez Cacho was a prolific artist working in the Mexican film industry during the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. If anyone rivaled the prolific poster output of Leopoldo Mendoza, it was probably A. M. Cacho. He had a brother (or perhaps father), Raul Martinez Cacho, who was also a poster artist working in the Mexican film industry. Little information is available concerning his history. (If you have any information concerning this artist, we'd appreciate hearing from you.) Cacho was quite versatile. He could produce posters in a realistic style, as evidenced by his work in cinematic westerns. He could also create whimsical posters, with colorful caricatures of the stars, as he did in his comedy film posters (Echenme al Gato, plus many of the films of Viruta y Capulina). Most of his posters were signed, but it is possible that there are unsigned examples, as well. |

Please Note: Mexican onesheet movie posters are usually printed on cheap, fragile paper, which has tended to become brittle with age. Because of this, even posters which have never been used, often have small nicks and tears around the borders and some splitting / separation at the fold lines. In order to protect the posters from additional damage (which in extreme cases, can sometimes occur by simply unfolding the poster), we sometimes use acid-free, archival tape on the back of the posters (usually on the fold lines) to reinforce them. This thin tissue-based tape is especially made for this purpose -- and it will not yellow, dry out, or harm the paper. The tape is invisible on the front. This was the third film in the 'Little Red Riding Hood' series. This is a used poster with edge wear, wear along the fold lines, paper loss at the corners. None of the flaws greatly detract from the main image area, and if matted and framed, the onesheet would display well... Wonderful Mexican comedy movie poster features a great close-up of a screaming Resortes, as the masked villain -- The Cat -- looms above him. This poster has several repaired holes, including: one below the head of The Cat, one on Ms. Welter's forehead, and one in the black section to the right of Resortes' chin. However, these repairs were very well-done using vintage paper from another poster -- so they are not very noticeable. The poster will display beautifully...
